Health Update #3/Failed Dive

Well, missed posting this on Monday so decided to post after a dumpster dive. Yay! Right???

I started on my diabetic meds again last week (think I already mentioned that). Friday, though. Friday was a game changer. I started taking Victoza. My numbers have been under 200 except for one day (bad day). Yay! Haven’t seen my numbers that low in quite some time. Back on track on getting my glucose levels controlled. Once that happens then my doctor and I are going to ween me off of them because my eating style and exercises should control my glucose from that point on.

I’m still contending with a weird digestion issue but I think I have it figured out. When I started experiencing the painful gaseous cramps was around the same time that I had stopped eating a lot of fresh fruit and a LOT of salads. Today was a blessing. We visited a local-ish SDA food bank and received a lot of fruit!!! My stomach has never been happier. Even got some bananas. hehehe  I foresee a lot more WFPB meals coming.

I am, and I will speak with my doctor about this, still having an issue with becoming so tired that I must sleep in the middle of the day. Yes, I’m still falling asleep around 1pm every day. I had to force myself to stay awake the past couple of days. Which unfortunately had me crashing as soon as I got home. I’m not quite sure what the reason is for this but I will figure it out.

As for the failed dumpster dive. My mother and I went last night to our local market’s dumpster (something we haven’t done since my last post about dumpster diving because I’ve been very under the weather) and it was a very sad night. The store had apparently decided to do some major clean up, such as getting rid of some signs and some other lovely non-reusable stuff. If there was produce, I couldn’t find it. I came away with a good reusable box though (used it for the food bank today) and a string of plastic red beads. lol

That’s all for now. I apologize if my blog posts have been lack-luster lately. Things will change soon, I just feel it. If you want, follow me on Instagram ( @barbarablunt ) and see what I’m eating. I’m also on the Vegan Amino app, just look for my name. 🙂  Peace and love, my friends.
