I am 45 years of age and just now deciding that figuring out who I am is vital to how I want to live my life. Actually, the idea started sprouting late last year when I came across some great YouTubers. One, in particular, Rachel David, inspired me to gather up my courage and do what I feel is right for me. Hot For Food (Lauren and John) and The Edgy Veg (Candice) inspired me to get back into the kitchen to work on my cooking skills more and come up with vegan comfort food. Mary’s Test Kitchen (Mary) and The Viet Vegan (Lisa) inspired me to branch out and include my love of all different nationalities of food into my vegan creations.
But this is not just about my love of cooking and being vegan. It’s also about my love of the planet and all it’s inhabitants (though there are times that some of the two-legged ones need a box upside the head). It’s about learning to work with what we have and wasting less. Rescuing things that are functional from ending up in a landfill. Saving ourselves from this waste-filled life that we now lead (in general).
I want to share what I know and have learned. I want to share what I learn in the future. I want to educate those that need it. I want to, honestly, inspire someone like myself. Someone who has lived in the dark long enough and does not want to have such a silent life anymore. Don’t worry, I don’t think I’m a radical. I still believe in every person’s right to think for themselves – just so long as they ARE thinking for themselves and not following a bunch of lemmings off a cliff to their death.
So, here’s my journey. My journey includes my friends and family, my dogs (5), my Teddy (Chevy Suburban) and anything else that I decide should be in my life. Join me. It may be boring at times and it may not. Who knows, I may even choose to become a YouTuber by the end of the year. I do foresee pictures, at least.
